Natural wood responds to changes in temperature, humidity, sunlight, and outdoor exposure. Variations in grain, color, knots, and surface texture are normal characteristics of real wood and are not considered defects.
For routine care, clean the interior approximately every two weeks or after every 5–10 uses. Regular exterior washing is generally not required, as the outdoor sauna is protected with a factory-applied wood wax oil finish made from natural plant oils and waxes. The finish penetrates the wood while allowing it to breathe, helping reduce moisture-related swelling, shrinkage, warping, and surface cracking. Depending on the local climate and natural variations in wood density, some areas may gradually fade or appear lighter within 3–6 months of installation. This is a normal cosmetic change and typically does not affect the wood’s protective finish.
When the exterior begins to appear faded, dry, or uneven, lightly sand it with 200-grit or finer sandpaper, remove all dust, and apply a breathable exterior wood wax oil with a brush. Spot-treat heavily faded areas first, wait approximately one hour, and then apply one thin, even coat over the entire surface.
Allow the finish to cure for at least 24 hours before normal use or exposure to rain. Use the included protective cover when the sauna is not in use, and secure the glass door during strong winds or severe weather.
